Scott Lindenmuth, long known as the Seattle area's premiere guitar instructor, has just released this interesting CD, drawing from his work in the studio in 1991 and 1992. This is purely instrumental music, ranging in style from progressive jazz to more traditional 12-bar rock, with lots of cross-pollination, time signature changes, and enough unexpected musical turns to keep things moving right along. Unlike many would-be or actual guitar gods, Lindenmuth is generous with his fellow musicians, sharing the spotlight pretty much equally with his three sidemen. This is no exercise in who can squeeze the most notes into a measure, but is instead a thoroughly enjoyable example of four talented musicians taking pleasure in the art of their craft.
